Gwern Hag's Handbag, Monster Deep Dive

$0.00

The Fetid misted marshlands yield all sorts of beings, chief among them are the parasitized bog bodies known as Gwern Hags. Unlike most hags, this being is an undead animated by a swollen insect lodged inside its skull through foul magic.

This PDF contains:

-5 new statblocks,

-6 new magic items,

- a new disease known as Bog Rot,

- Extensive lore on the Gwern Hag

- Optional Coven rules for the Gwern Hag (allowing it to become a civilization ending threat)

- Potential Lair action for the hag

Additional Details:

This deep dive explores the ritualistic origins of the Gwern Hag, how they create their various minions and the importance of their marshland lairs to their sanity.

It includes statblocks for the Hag (alongside optional rules for Gwern Hag Covens) as well as many of its minions. The Gwern Flies that animate the Gwern Hag take the form of a swarm or a giant insect. Other minions include corpses overtaken by Gwern flies known as Bog walkers, and a cyclopean construct in the form of a bird that acts as the eyes and ears of the hag all throughout her territory.

This deep dive also includes many objects that can be found in the possession of the hag. These items range from grotesque, such as Hag's Butter, to splendid like The Red Quill of Magon.

Recommended for 12 and up (contains mention of disease & parasites)
